SEKT (www.sekt-project.com), together with the U.K.’s Advanced Knowledge Technologies project (http://www.aktors.org), is organising a Semantic Web Industry Day at WWW 2006. The aim of the day is to explain just what can be achieved today with Semantic Web technologies and where the Semantic Web is heading in the future. The day opens with a panel session chaired by Professor Nigel Shadbolt, Director of the AKT project. It continues with a series of talks with speakers drawn from industry and from the analyst and investment community. Presentations on SEKT and AKT are given as well. In addition, a number of companies as well as the projects of the ESSI cluster (www.essi-cluster.org) will be demonstrating products and case studies based on Semantic Web technology. The industry day is organized by Dr. J. Davies, BT and Prof. Dr. R. Studer, Univ. of Karlsruhe.
